Tarzan Première in Milan
The italian Tarzan première will be during the "Telefilm
Festival" in Milan (cinema Arcobaleno - 6/9 May

"Project Group Hug"

It was an idea stolen from fandoms past. Fans from all over
the world contributed letters, photos, art etc to a scrapbook
for Travis. A giant thank you and we love you card if you
will. The effort was spearheaded by TFF site designer and
"Save Tarzan" campaign member Jayne Rives, who
dubbed the effort "Project Group Hug."
"Several people emailed me asking if I knew of a way
to send Travis a letter," Jayne, a Los Angeles resident
and aspiring screenwriters, recalls. "But the truth
was, I had no idea other than sending them to the [WB] network.
So I told folks to send the letters to me. I would put them
together in a scrapbook and find a way to get the whole
thing to Travis." That way was found by friend and
fellow campaign member Jean Kassab, who gained fame for
being quoted in two articles about the efforts. Jean tracked
down Travis's modeling agent Paul Nelson of LA Models and
left him a voice mail. It was a welcome surprise when he
not only returned the call, but recognized her name from
one of the articles. After being told about the scrapbook,
Nelson offered to see it safely to Travis, who still receives
fan mail through the agency. The package, consisting of
the scrapbook and several smaller items, was delivered by
Jayne to the agency on Friday January 23rd. "Paul was
a very nice gentleman. He came out to the reception area
to meet me in person. He promised to let me know when Travis
had received our gift." And he did. Jayne received
an email on Wednesday Jan 28th informing her that Travis
"was in the office yesterday... He was stunned and
very impressed with all the letters, poems and pictures
that were included... and he thanks you very much for all
you have done."
